If you are requesting a donation of artwork, please note the following minimum requirements:

• Beneficiary must be a 501(c)3 entity.

• The request must be made at least 30 days prior to the date of the event.

• The entities' most current IRS Form 990 must be provided.

• All artwork donated will carry certain restrictions.

 

Unbeknownst to most organizations and the public, all artist donations are tax deductible only up to the actual cost of the donated piece of artwork, without regard to the artist's labor. Thus, the artist is only able to deduct materials and supplies. The U.S. Congress continues to allow collectors to deduct the market value of their artwork donations, while limiting the artist's deduction. To read more on this, please click here.
