Manifestación abiertamente simbolista, metafórica y/o meramente descriptiva, casi surrealista, literaria. El pincel no lo ve todo, pero el ojo tampoco. Mirar es re-crear, hacer posible el milagro del mundo; recobrarlo por de nuevo perder' (...)"

...es un delicioso derroche de color, que nos transporta a esa Cuba por la que tanta nostalgia siente el artista, en la que explora y celebra sus raíces. Como un viaje imaginario a La Habana del ayer, con intensidad y alegria, que en ocasiones recuerda a Matisse, el joven artista nos regala sus recuerdos en imágenes de gran belleza.

TRANSLATION: ...a delicious overabundance of color, which transports us to that Cuba which the artist feels so much nostalgia for, in which he explores and celebrates his roots. Like an imaginary trip to the Havana of yesterday, with intensity and joy, which on occasion reminds us of Matisse, the young artist gives us his memories in images of great beauty.

Cuando se entra en la obra de George Rodéz en diseccion y se profundiza en materia y en concepto, empiezan a aparecer elementos que no solo le imprimen un sello personal caracteristico y reconocible, sino que nos llevan a descubrir las verdades intenciones de este artista. Porque una vez se accede a la obra de Rodéz, tampoco nada era lo que aparentaba ser. Es como si se estubiera frente a un espejismo que contiene todos lo components de realidad, pero que nos decepciona cuando intentamos hacer uso de ellos. Y es ahi donde radica la ironia. Rodez ha adoptado en su discurso plastico para plantear la problematica actual cubana y su cosmovision de lo ilusorio.
